CP 365342 & 365345 100 ton hopper
Eighty One
Eighty Two
Eighty Three
Eighty Four
Eighty Five
Eighty Six
Again these are nice Bowser kits. Easy to assemble, nice detail, and at a good price. These two cars were weathered to appear not to long in use, 2-3 years. Most attention was paid to dirt, grime and rust. The weathering here is done with acrylics, the technique used is primarily dry brushing.

CP 400259 62' Tank Car
Sixty Five
Here we have another commissioned work. This is an Athearn tank car kit that was given to me assembled. I did a medium weathering job with some rust and went light on the graffiti. Weathering was done with acrylics, rust with oils and graffiti with paint markers
As a side note, in searching RR Pictures Archives it appears that CP mostly used these cars for MOW or internal purposes.
Sixty Six
Sixty Seven and Sixty Eight
Close up of the rust and of the "streaking" letters. I did the streaking with several light washes of acrylic paint.

Seventy
I took the idea of the red paint off a prototype photo

CP Caboose...

Here we have CP caboose 439418. This is a Walther's Trainline caboose. I chose to do some work on this caboose because 1, it is inexpensive and 2, it is a low detail car that gave me the opportunity to demonstrate how weathering can make "lower end" models look good.
I added window glazing via some scrap thin plastic, weighted the gar using self-stick lead weights and added McHenry couplers. I also added a figure in the copula.
Dirt and grime was done using acrylics. I use both washes and dry-brushing techniques. Rust and rust streaks were added with oils. There is no graffiti on this car.
Four.
This is another shot of the same car. My apologies for the lighting and camera work, I have never claimed to be a photographer.
